Runs well, works perfectly for gaming when paired with a good GPU. Seems to easily handle anything I throw at it.
Love it. Upgraded the CPU with this on my ancient AM4 motherboard. Upgraded from an AMD Ryzen 1600 CPU. Now my computer can edit Word documents using Grammarly without stuttering.
Paired this with the rtx 3060 12gb for a basic 1080p to 1440p gaming setup with 16gb ram.
Plays all the games my son is into so for the win.
Upgraded my aging yet still competent R5 2600 to a R5 5600 and the process was extremely straight forward: update BIOS, remove old CPU, drop in new one, re-paste. Done.
The difference was immediate with Windows feeling snappier and quicker with loading apps and webpages. Games also feel smoother thanks to the doubling of L3 cache, helping with increasing 1% frame rates, even at 1440p using a 3060 Ti.
Temps never exceeded 75c, idle temps between 30c-50c, mostly high 30’s. Using a Coolermaster dual-fan tower air cooler.
Definitely happy with the upgrade for less than $200, giving my PC a couple more years before I go with a new Zen 5/6 build.
No issues so far and delivery was fast. Bought it as an upgrade to my old Ryzen 3 3100 and has been a good upgrade so far, though my performance is still bottlenecked by my GPU so the performance increase isn’t too obvious yet for me. Still a great value chip if you’re looking for mid-range pc parts and have an existing am4 motherboard. It’s worth keeping in mind that the socket this CPU uses (AM4) is no longer getting new product releases – if you are building a new PC, you are going to be better off sacrificing the extra to go for an AM5 motherboard and cpu.
good for its price, works well with a 3060. i get around 200-400 fps in shooter games :-3
i also use a b550m k mobo !!
Just got the 5600, was recommended to use it with my 1660 super. I play pcvr so it made oculus link cable play at smooth play rate

Good
Performs reasonably well while staying reasonably cool (paired with a Hyper212 at least). Great value considering the June discount. If you’re already on older AM4, especially 1st gen, it’s a significant step up. If you’re coming from older Intel, especially DDR3 era like I did, be prepared to do some digging for good deals to make it worthwhile choosing over AM5/DDR5.
An excellent CPU from a budget perspective and it performs great but this CPU can get hot with the stock cooler that it comes with.
